Seitenschuss ist eine Chrome-Erweiterung, die die gerade geöffnete Seite als Vollseiten-Screenshot speichert. Sie erhebt, speichert und überträgt keine personenbezogenen Daten.
Beim Drücken der Tastenkombination liest die Erweiterung die aktuell aktive Seite: sie scrollt sie, nimmt den sichtbaren Bereich in Etappen auf und setzt daraus ein PNG zusammen. Für den Dateinamen liest sie Titel, Überschriften und einige Absätze dieser einen Seite. All das geschieht ausschließlich auf dem Gerät. Die Erweiterung hat keinen Zugriff auf andere Tabs oder Seiten und liest nichts, solange die Tastenkombination nicht gedrückt wird.
Das PNG wird in den Download-Ordner des Browsers geschrieben. Sonst nirgendwohin: es gibt keinen Server des Entwicklers, keine Analyse, kein Tracking, keine Konten.
Wer in den Einstellungen die Benennung durch ein Sprachmodell einschaltet, erlaubt der Erweiterung
ausdrücklich den Zugriff auf localhost bzw. 127.0.0.1. Dann wird der
gelesene Seitentext an ein vom Nutzer selbst betriebenes Programm auf demselben Rechner
(z. B. Ollama, LM Studio) gesendet, das daraus Schlagworte für den Dateinamen bildet. Andere Adressen
lehnt die Erweiterung ab. Diese Funktion ist standardmäßig aus und lässt sich jederzeit abschalten;
die Freigabe kann unter chrome://extensions entzogen werden.
Die Einstellungen (Unterordner, Sprache, Benennungsoptionen) liegen in chrome.storage.sync
und werden, falls die Chrome-Synchronisierung aktiv ist, von Google zwischen den Geräten des Nutzers
synchronisiert. Sie enthalten keine Inhalte der aufgenommenen Seiten.

Seitenschuss is a Chrome extension that saves the currently open page as a full-page screenshot. It does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.
When you press the keyboard shortcut, the extension reads the currently active page: it scrolls it, captures the visible area in steps and assembles a PNG. For the file name it reads the title, headings and a few paragraphs of that single page. All of this happens on your device only. The extension has no access to other tabs or pages and reads nothing unless the shortcut is pressed.
The PNG is written to the browser's download folder. Nowhere else: there is no developer server, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts.
If you enable naming by a language model in the settings, you explicitly grant the extension
access to localhost / 127.0.0.1. The page text it read is then sent to a
program you run yourself on the same computer (e.g. Ollama, LM Studio), which turns it
into keywords for the file name. The extension rejects any other address. This feature is off by
default, can be switched off at any time, and the permission can be revoked at
chrome://extensions.
Settings (subfolder, language, naming options) are kept in chrome.storage.sync and, if
Chrome sync is enabled, are synchronised by Google between your devices. They contain no content
of captured pages.
