Website redesign - what it costs and how long it takes
Website redesign with a fixed price and a clear date. Most sites go live within days, not months. Hosting included if you want it.
How much does a website redesign cost?
The honest answer: it depends on how much of your old site can stay. Here is how I price it, so you can judge before you ask.
Refresh
Your content stays, the design gets rebuilt. New layout, mobile-ready, faster. Typically live in 2 to 4 days.
Full redesign
New structure, new texts where needed, new design. For sites that grew over years and lost their thread. About 1 to 2 weeks.
Redesign plus shop or booking
When payment, bookings or a customer login are part of it. Priced after a short call, never estimated blind.
Every price is fixed before I start. No hourly billing, no surprise invoice at the end.
When a redesign is worth it
It breaks on phones
More than half your visitors are on a phone. If they have to pinch and zoom, they leave.
It loads slowly
Old sites carry years of plugins and unused code. Slow pages lose visitors and rank worse.
You cannot edit it
If changing a phone number means calling someone, the site owns you instead of the other way round.
It looks dated
Design ages. A site that looks abandoned makes a healthy business look abandoned too.
How it works
You show me the site
Send me the link. I tell you what I would keep, what I would drop, and what it costs. Free, no obligation.
You get a fixed price and a date
Both in writing before anything starts. If I miss the date, that is my problem, not your invoice.
I build it, you review it
You see the new site on a test address first. Changes are included until it is right.
It goes live
I move it over, set up the redirects so Google keeps your rankings, and check that email still works.
Hosting: move it or keep it, your call
A redesign is the natural moment to move hosting, because everything is being touched anyway. But it is not a condition.
Move it to me
The migration is free as part of the redesign. You get one contact for site and server, and updates and backups are handled.
Keep your host
Fine too. I build the site, hand it over and you stay where you are. No pressure, no lock-in.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my Google rankings?
Not if the redirects are done properly, and that is part of every redesign I do. Old addresses point to the new ones, so Google carries the ranking across. Sites usually recover their position within days.
Can you keep my texts and images?
Yes, and often that is the sensible choice. Your texts describe your business better than any placeholder. I rewrite only where something is unclear or missing, and I always ask first.
What if I do not like the result?
You see it on a test address before anything goes live. Changes are included until it is right. Nothing replaces your current site until you say so.
Do I have to switch to WordPress?
No. If WordPress fits, I use it. If a simpler static site is faster and cheaper for you, I build that instead. The tool follows your case, not my habit.
How fast is 'live in days' really?
A refresh of an existing site is typically 2 to 4 working days. A full redesign is 1 to 2 weeks. The date is fixed in writing before I start, so you can plan around it.
What happens to my email?
Email is checked before and after the move, and it stays working. This is where most migrations go wrong, so it gets tested explicitly, not assumed.
